Project Vote Joins the Call for a Clean Budget

As the threat of government shutdown appears to subside, we must not forget all the other ideas that lobbyists are slipping into the budget that must pass Friday.

Project Vote has joined the Clean Budget Coalition to oppose undemocratic policy riders. Riders are tacked (or “ride”) on unrelated legislation, including must-pass spending bills. They are usually used to push through harmful and controversial policies that would not pass on their own through regular procedures and open debate.

We are pleased to unite with allies in a variety of issue areas calling for no riders in the spending bill that has to pass this week and in future funding cycles.
