Project Vote welcomes our new field director, Akilah R. Ensley. Working in our Voter Participation Program, Akilah is coordinating with partners in the field on voter registration and engagement efforts and other various state projects.

Akilah brings to Project Vote 10 years of campaign and non-profit experience working with community organizations, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. She attended the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and the American Intercontinental University, holding a Bachelor of Science in International Business Management and a Master of Business Administration and Project Management. As a dedicated political advocate and community organizer, she is instilled with a passion for service and a commitment to voter protection and engagement. As a Certified Life, Business and Wellness Coach; Mentor and Coach for Brown Girls Lead; Committee Member of the North Carolina American Heart Association; and Founder and State Director of the NC Chapter of the New Leaders Council, she works diligently to promote social welfare, civic engagement and community service.

“I have a vision of inclusion and effectiveness for the next generation of young leaders and strategic operatives,” says Ms. Ensley, “to build a coalition of individuals who will help to reshape the political landscape across this country.”
