Electionary is a free, comprehensive online resource that voters can use to find information on voter registration rules, election dates, early voting rules, disability access, and more. Voters can also check to see if their state provides time off—paid or not—to vote.

Currently, just less than half of all states give voters paid time off to vote, by law. Check www.electionary.info to find out what rules exist in your state. (Hint: Click on your home state, select “On Election Day,” then click on “Are employers required to give employees time off to vote?”)

“Your right to take time off of work to vote can vary dramatically depending on what state you live in, and in many states, you have no right to take time off at all,” said Project Vote election counsel, Stephen Mortellaro. “Electionary enables voters to learn whether they live in a state that protects them for taking time off to vote on Election Day and whether the employer must pay the voter if they do.”

Since January, Project Vote has regularly updated www.electionary.info with new state voter guides. Voting guides for all 50 states and D.C., including Spanish language guides for select states, will be available by the end of the summer.
