The 2012 election is just under a year away and the nation is already abuzz over voting rights issues. From this week’s victory in Maine to restore a 38-year-old Election Day registration policy to debates over regressive voting laws in Florida, Texas, South Carolina, and Mississippi, there’s no doubt that voter access is part of a national debate.

This election season, Project Vote is hosting a Twitter account that solely features news reports related to voting rights and election administration.

If you have a Twitter account, you can follow @VotingMatters to get up-to-the-minute updates on important developments in the voting rights world. However, you do not need a Twitter account to access the news feed, and may view it at any time here, or subscribe to the RSS feed here.

Project Vote will also offer a weekly email compilation of these news clippings. If you prefer to receive the weekly email of news updates, please sign up here.

Project Vote is dedicated to ensuring that our constituents stay informed during this important year, and we hope you’ll take advantage of this  new service.
