We were surprised (and confused) when we heard that President Obama’s re-election campaign, Obama for America, had announced a voter registration program that they were planning to call “Project Vote.”
We are pleased to see candidates take interest in voter registration and we wish them good luck on their efforts. However, we–Project Vote, Inc.–hold the trademark for that name and we have been conducting voter registration activities under that name since 1997.
To avoid further confusion, we have contacted attorneys representing Obama for America and have been assured that this matter will be resolved quickly and amicably.
