Project Vote was pleased to attend Thursday’s confirmation hearing for Sylvia Burwell, the current Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget and new nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services.

In the hearing, Director Burwell cited previous management experiences in the Clinton administration, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Wal-Mart Foundation.

These experiences, as well as her commitment to public service, make her a highly qualified nominee and we anticipate her swift confirmation as Secretary.

We also look forward to working with Ms. Burwell to ensure that millions of eligible Americans are given the chance to register to vote through bringing the Health Benefit Exchanges into compliance with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.

A second confirmation hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
