LULAC v. Harris County (Texas)

Project Vote is challenging the discriminatory registration practices of the most populous county in Texas in League of United Latin American Citizens v. Harris County (Texas). On behalf of LULAC and individual plaintiffs, Project Vote attorneys are seeking a judgment requiring Harris County to cease its improper rejection of thousands of applications, a disproportionate percentage of which were submitted by voters of color and Spanish speaking voters. The county’s processes violate the Voting Rights Act and National Voter Registration Act. Harris County has a long history of discrimination against members of racial and language minority groups and of denying the voting rights of these groups.
