(WASHINGTON, DC) – With early voting underway in many parts of the country, Latino voters are expected to turn out in record numbers this year. In recent election cycles, the numbers of Latinos registering and voting have been on the rise. Increasingly, Hispanic Americans are engaging in the political process and making their voices heard at the ballot box.
Participation by the Latino community has grown, but so have restrictive laws. Experts on voting rights have expressed concern that voter ID laws, proof-of-citizenship requirements, in addition to voter roll purges could disproportionately impact Hispanic voters this November.
Latino leaders will brief the press and answer questions on the state of Latino voters and issues driving turnout on Election Day.
